At the crossroads of Cognac and Rouillac, the Domaine de Sainte-Hermine keeps an “extra-old” Pineau des Charentes to make the finest connoisseurs of the divine nectar travel back in time.
Le Pineau du Domaine de Sainte-Hermine
Fruit of an ancestral know-how passed down for 4 generations, the Sainte-Hermine’s Pineau des Charentes is distinguished from the others by its seniority and its preservation for more than 20 years in the cellar of the estate.
Aged in oak barrels and bottled by the winemaker, Patrick Joumier, the last representative of a historic family of Charente producers, offers you a tasting ode to the Charente department.
Patrick Joumier wants to be a transmitter of tradition established in local tourism. He offers tastings and direct selling in Échallat, near Rouillac.
You should know that currently, 60% of pineau sales are made in supermarkets and that in 30 years, the number of pineau producers has been divided by 10.
They were 12,000 in 1992, there are less than 1,000 today.
Become a player in the local trade and do not hesitate to ask for information, Patrick Joumier will be happy to welcome you and let you taste his extra-old pineau.
